TRI-D One-Time Password Server Software

We are pleased to announce the sale of our One-Time Password software to "The world's leading open source solutions provider." However, because it will be several months before they will be able to offer or support it, they're not ready to take your inquiries just yet. In the meantime, we are not able to offer or support it either. So, please hang on tight and check back with us in a few months to find out where you can get your open source OTP solution in the future.

Get the Security of Strong Authentication Today… With TRI-D OTP Server, It's Easy

TRI-D takes a novel approach to One-Time Password (OTP) software design. Instead of reinventing the authentication protocol wheel, TRI-D's OTP Server Software plugs into your existing authentication server. This makes TRI-D software smaller, easier to deploy/integrate/manage, and easier to troubleshoot.

Most of our customers report they have TRI-D software up and running in their existing environment in just 15 minutes…no big P.O.s to be approved, no forklift migration, no professional services…just stronger security of your digital assets and identities today.

Open Source, Source Available = More Flexibility, Higher Assurance, Better Security

TRI-D OTP Server Software comes in 3 Editions. The Community Edition is open source and source code is available for our Professional and the Enterprise Editions. Not only does this give you the flexibility and extensibility you need to create and grow the system that meets your specific needs, it is completely open for review by security experts and avoids the "who watches the watchers" problem, a failing of all proprietary "black box" solutions on the market today.

TRI-D's Core Software Architecture (get more details in our Software Architecure whitepaper)

  • Customer-Supplied Authentication Server and User Database
Examples include: FreeRADIUS, any unix server with PAM, Windows VPN, and Active Directory, LDAP, or flat files.

  • Authentication Server Plugin to TRI-D Software
FreeRADIUS already comes with this plugin and doesn't require any extra configuration to work with TRI-D Software. An open source plugin for PAM can be downloaded from our website. You can also write your own plugin or ask your authentication server vendor to provide one.

  • TRI-D OTP daemon (otpd)
This process performs the actual OTP validation and is available as open source.

  • Cardops Modules
Cardops modules tell otpd how the user's card or token calculates OTPs, for instance time-based HOTP or a specific proprietary algorithm. The plugin that provides functionality for all TRI-D cards and tokens is offered in binary code and is automatically supplied with otpd. Four modules come with otpd, and a documented API is provided allowing custom, site-specific or proprietary modules.

Design Approach (SURASM) Sets TRI-D Software Apart From the Rest

  • Security - TRI-D infrastructure software is either open source, or source-available making it completely available for review and verifiable as to the security aspects inherent the design.

  • Usability - All software runs as a standard daemon. Configuration files are flexible and simple to understand and since standard authentication protocols are used, client-side software issues do not exist.

  • Reliability - The TRI-D server software was expressly designed to be simple for increased reliability. Since TRI-D piggybacks onto the existing authentication server, TRI-D's software will not negatively affect the reliability of the system.

  • Availability - TRI-D's architecture incorporates high availability by design, there is no need to use complex external techniques to achieve availability goals.

  • Scalability - TRI-D's Enterprise Edition scales like no other. All of the heavy lifting is pushed to the edge so the system can scale linearly and to any size deployment. It is unlikely that there is a production environment that TRI-D cannot support.

  • Manageability - The TRI-D software is easy to install and configure and requires no ongoing attention and failover and recovery is automatic in our Enterprise Edition.

It Should Be TRI-D

TRI-D's novel software design offers multifactor authentication that works in all production environments with minimal integration concerns, can scale to any size deployment and is easy to install, configure and audit. The open source and open standards philosophy offers verifiability that is not available from any other vendor. All of this adds up to higher security, lower cost of ownership, and it's available for download today.
